Story:
Kalyan is a decent guy who is being called MLA (Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi). He helps his sister to marry his friend (Vennela) against dad’s will. They are asked to leave the home. As Vennela works in Bangalore, they move there and Kalyan is also gets employed in the same company. Shruti (Kajal) is chairman’s daughter.
Kalyan falls in love with her. The company has a land dispute which he solves and Shruti starts reciprocating to his feelings. All of a sudden, goons attack Shruti for a different reason. It is learnt that she’s in exile. Who is she and is her actual flashback? What makes Kalyan enter politics? Will he become real MLA? All this and lot more in offing from Kalyanram’s MLA.
Review:
MLA is regular commercial potboiler with all the mass masala ingredients. The film is supplemented adequate comedy and action episodes. First half is set in Bangalore with  some fun filled moments. Brahmanandam shines in a fresh role. Romantic track between lead pair is appealing. Postinterval scene shifts to village and politics takes driver seat. Again hero making villain bakra as seen in many formula films. Eventually, hero does good to people and emerges a leader.
Technically:
Manisharma music is big asset to the film. Foot tapping songs will allure the mass audience. Songs are colourfully picturized is good. Cinematography is apt for it being commercial drama. Over all the film has got good production values. Director tries to ape several run-of-the-mill template films.
Performance:
Kalyanram looked handsome and his comedy timing is good. His swag will go well with fans. Surprisingly, he imitates Rajinikanth in several scenes. Kajal is gorgeous as always and has got decent role. She sizzles in songs. The reunion of Kalyanram and Kajal is a cynosure to eyes. RaviKishan does the same act of his as seen in Race Gurram and other films. Brahmanandam rakes some laughs in first half. Vennela Kishore and Posani also does their bit of comedy.
Bottom-line: MLA falls short of votes
