‘Okka Kshanam’ Story:

Jeeva (Allu Sirish) is a jobless engineering graduate. He falls in love with Jyo (Surbhi) at first sight. After conversations over WhatsApp and few meeting, Jeeva and Jyo get close. Their families too approve their relation.

However, Jyo has a weird habit of peeping into neighbours lives. In her apartment complex, she finds a newlywed couple (Srinivas Avasarala and Seerat Kapoor) quarrelling constantly. She follows the couple’s day-to-day activities. Upon Jyo’s request Jeeva meets Srinivas (Avasarala).

Eventually both realise that whatever happened in Srinivas and Swathi (Seerat Kapoor) lives, is repeating with them. One day Swathi gets killed and Srinivas is accused of murdering Swathi. Now Jyo fears the same fate to be met. She distances herself from Jeeva. Can he convince her, can he change the destiny forms the plot.

Screenplay:

First half starts as a simple love story. It get complex and intriguing with parallel lives concept. Director Vi Anand pepped it up with romantic and comic moments. Curiosity of lead pair to know what happened in the newlywed couple’s life is well maintained and the same is transposed to the audience. As the mystery unfolds, it gets interesting with intelligent narration with tightly knit scenes.

Suspense is retained in the second half too. The way hero reverse analyses the events to find solutions is good. Repeated scenes may bore the audience a bit. Some concepts appear artificial and forced. Hero connecting the dots to reach real culprits may be confusing to a section of audience.

Performances:

Allu Sirish delivers his best performance till date. His body language to dialogue delivery everything is fresh and is at ease. He is also good in emotional scenes. Surbhi and Seerat Kapoor has got decent roles with scope to perform and both the actresses are apt. Dasari Arun is back in a surprising role. Comedy tinge is added by Praveen, Satya Akella, Viva Harsha and Sudarshan.

Technically:

Director Vi Anand has to be commended for presenting the complex script in easy to understand and entertaining format. Background score by Manisharma is another asset to the film, it enhanced the thriller feel. Cinematography is top-notch in several significant scenes, it drives that racy effect in the film.

Bottom-line: Okka Kshanam – Thrilling to a T
