Sri Reddy wins, TFI frames guidelines to curb casting couch


Even Hollywood couldn’t create such an impact with their Metoo campaign.  From semi-nude protest to abusing Pawan Kalyan, Sri Reddy has stirred a storm out of casting couch issue. Finally, some constructive steps are being taken to curtail sexual exploitation in the film industry.
Reportedly, a panel consisting of 50% from the industry and 50% government officials will be set up to regulate casting and other film related issues. Team of legal experts have stated certain guidelines for this panel.
Guidelines have already been issued to the producers council, MAA and others unions. The guidelines mainly focuses on measures to be taken to enhance safety of the women in the industry – casting couch, providing toilet facilities and changing rooms being primary concerns.
The facilities should be made available to all female artistes including junior artistes and character artistes. Auditions of actresses need to be recorded on a camera and that too in presence of another woman.
The panel which will work in co-ordination with SHE teams. Incase of any grievances regarding sexual harassment, aspiring actresses can complain via email, phone and SMS. Counselling and guidance to them before entering the industry.
On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan too had announced that he will set up Mahila Atmagaurava Samithi to address such issues in industry with support from ‘Jana Sena Mahila Vibhagam’.
