After granting 10% reservation to economically backward other castes, PM Narendra Modi is set to grant another boon to the citizens.
As per trending political buzz, Modi is likely to increase the income tax slab limit to Rs 8 lakhs. The current income tax limit is 2 lakh. He would be announcing the change in slab limit in the end of financial year 2018 – 2019.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley and his team are said to be contemplating in this lines. It has become hot topic in political circles. Opposition parties have been claiming it a political stunt to impress public ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
BJP has lost its sheen and Modi factor has apparently gone down in the recent times which is evident from assembly election losses to the party in Rajasthan, Telangana and other states.
Harsh policies like demonetization and GST has taken toll on his image. To wipe out them from public memory and to pacify them, Modi is planning some citizen friendly grants ahead of elections, opine political analysts.
