‘Mouna Poratam’ is a real-life story of Sabita Badhei, which gained massive media coverage. It tells the story of a tribal girl, Durga (portrayed by the Yamuna), who is betrayed by a government officer and fights for her conjugal rights, seeking marital recognition to give proper identity to her illegitimate child. This film bagged Silver Nandi Award for Second Best Feature Film in 1989.

‘Pratighatana’ is block buster and a women centric film at those times, where society feel that women restricted to kitchen and four walls, A woman’s fight against corruption and criminalization of politics in India.
