Khairatabad constituency holds a special significance in Telangana state. There is huge competition to grab the Khairatabad MLA ticket. With Congress leader and ex-minister Danam Nagendra joining TRS, the fight got bigger. Corporators Vijaya Reddy, Gadwal Vijayalaxmi and Manne Govardan Reddy have been front contenders till date.
Late P Janardhan Reddy’s daughter Vijaya Reddy was deceived by congress party as she expected Khairatabad ticket in 2009. In 2014, she contested on YSRCP ticket. Keshav Rao’s daughter Gadwal Vijayalaxmi is also expecting Khairatabad ticket. She has proved by winning in Greater Hyderabad elections from Banjara Hills. On the other hand, film star Allu Arjun’s uncle Chandrasekhar Reddy has become a key leader of TRS in Ibrahimpatnam.
Perhaps, Ibrahimpatnam current sitting MLA may be given a chance again. Chandrasekhar Reddy is an educationalist who stays in Jubilee Hills. He has good connections with Film industry. So, he is also seeking Khairatabad ticket from TRS. The party is in dilemma with heavy competition. Keep watching this space for more updates.
