Padmavati controversy is creating furore in North. Rajput Karni sena in Rajasthan has warned that theatres will be set ablaze if the film is allowed to release. Some fringe activists threatened that the film’s heroine Deepika Padukone will meet the fate of Surpanaka and like Lakshman did they will chop her nose off.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali assured that Padmavati will be glorifying Rajput history and will be befitting tribute to the brave queen. However, Uttara Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to court to postpone the film’s release. As per buzz, Padmavati may be postponed to January 12th.
The film has garnered huge craze hence may occupy several screens in multiplexes . Telugu films are lined up for Sankranthi festival. Filmmakers are fearing that Padmavati may hinder their business prospects at box-office. As known, Pawan Kalyan’s PSPK25 directed by Trivikram Srinivas is set for release on January 10th and Balakrishna’s Jai Simha is scheduled for January 12th as Sankranthi treat for fans.
