“Yatra 2,” the much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit “Yatra,” starring Jiiva and Mammootty in pivotal roles, is set for a global release on February 8, 2024. Directed by Mahi V Raghav, the film intricately unfolds a compelling narrative centered around a son’s unwavering commitment to fulfill his father’s wishes, even in the face of adversities.
The recently unveiled teaser tenderly introduces YS Jagan (Jiiva) and his political journey as the son of YS Rajasekhar Reddy (Mammootty). It highlights YS Jagan’s challenges during the Odarpu Yatra, where he strives to console those mourning the loss of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. “Yatra 2” powerfully portrays Jagan’s resilience, culminating in his triumphant victory in the 2019 elections and subsequent tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Director Mahi meticulously navigates the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh from 2009 to 2019 in this sequel.
The film features Mahesh Manjrekar as Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Suzanne Bernard as Sonia Gandhi, and Ketaki Narayanan as YS Bharathi.
