Gunasekhar’s mythological love saga Shaakunthalam featuring Samantha and Dev Mohan has been in the making for a long time. The movie’s shooting was wrapped up a long time ago and Samantha has completed and released Yashoda movie in between. But, Shaakunthalam is yet to get released.

The movie’s release getting postponed due to the VFX works and the team announced the release date as 17th February, but the movie got postponed again due to various reasons. The team has announced its new release date and as per the sources, Shaakunthalam will have a massive theatrical release on 14th April 2023 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages.

Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie is produced by Neelima Guna, the daughter of Gunasekhar in collaboration with ‘Dil’ Raju. The movie is an adaption of Kalidasas’s Abhignana Shaakunthalam. The movie also stars Mohan Babu, Krishnam Raju, Allu Arha, and Ananya in other important roles.
