Gehana Vasisth born Vandana Tiwari was born on June 16, 1993 in Bhopal. She took on the stage name “Gehana Vasisth” after coming to Mumbai and now is an actress, model, and television presenter and also a VJ.
After working for several brands as a model, she was crowned Miss Asia Bikini via an online contest.
She did more than 70 advertisements and later entered the film industry through a movie called Filmi Duniya and later she performed a handful of lead roles in several Tamil, Telugu and Kannada as well as Bollywood films.
Gehana Vasisth is also a stage performer and has done innumerable stage shows and events not just in India, but also abroad.
She was introduced as an anchor on the Sahara One Television Channel. Later she did a major role in the serial Behenein on Star Plus and appeared as VJ on True Life show on MTV India.
She was anchor for Cricket World Cup 2015 for a news channel along with Yograj Singh and Atul Wassan.
Gehana Vasisth again came into the limelight when in November 2017, in a string of exposes, she revealed the dark secrets of several Bigg Boss Season 11 contestants.
Speaking about her first break Gehana says, She got her first break in 2012. It was a clothing brand ad for Monte Carlo. For her it came like a shock, as She has never expected it and That time she was preparing for her MBA CAT entrance exams. However, as the amount offered was good and As she was doing her engineering in Computer Science on an education loan, So she took up this offer immediately, with the only thought that She will be able to pay for her college, hostel and other fees. Later on in 2012, She participated in an international pageant where She was selected to represent India at the international round.
After the Monte Carlo ad, there was no looking back. She got offers and worked with brands like Pepsi, Philips, Arena, Lux Shampoo with Malaika Arora and many other known brands. She was also selected as an anchor for the show True Life on MTv and also for the serial Behanein on Star Plus. Her first Hindi film Dal mein Kuch Kala Hein was with Pakistani artiste and former Bigg Boss contestant Veena Malik. I later did an item song with Bali Brahmbhatt and a film titled Filmy Duniya.
It was at this time that She made her debut in the South film industry and was selected for films like Anukunnadi Okati Ayyindi Okati, Namaste , B Tech Love Story, Aidu 5, 33 Prema Kathalu, Preminchu Pilladu, Lalijo Lalijo, Banjara Tigers, Peigal Jaakirathai, Iravaakalam to name a few and many more.
She was also approached for the Hindi Bollywood film Savita Barbie from the makers of kamasutra 3D , but the film is yet to take off. Fortunately, her success story did not stop there. She was also selected for the film Lucknowi Ishq as an item dancer opposite Adhyayan Suman – son of Shekhar Suman. She has also been part of Kasam serial on Colors and right now She is shooting for Pyar Ki Kasauti of Balaji Productions.
She has done about 20 films in different roles as well as over 70 ads and ad films. Not to forget several stage shows and 4 serials in continuity roles.
Gehana Vasisth has faced several ups and downs in her life, but she persevered and kept going. She did not give up and after four years fraught with hard work, determination and grit, she has achieved quite a lot – and that too without any godfather. Hats off to Gehana Vasisth.
