Story:
Varun (Srinivasa Reddy) and his wife (Siddhi) seek divorce over frequent petty quarrels. In a surprise twist, miraculously the couple gets sex changed. Varun starts behaving like woman while Siddhi turns manly. What happens to their marital relationship? Will the they go ahead with their divorce? EVV’s Jamba Lakidia Pamba is hilarious comedy entertainer that can be thoroughly enjoyed even today. Remaking such a iconic film is a challenging task that makers of Jamba Lakidi Pamba 2018 has ventured. one needs to be very careful and make sure that there is ample entertainment from the word go. The film fails to match one tenth of it. First half is somewhat okay with decent performances evoking fun. From interval film loses track with clumsy characters flooding in. Desperate slapstick comedy set in village with forced subplots makes it terrible. With lengthy runtime, the film is test for patience.
Performances:
Srinivas Reddy’s tries his best to save this disappointing film. His female act is perfect that it creates comedy in second half. Vennela Kishore is good as lawyer. Jabardasth Apparao brings in some laughs. Posani Krishna Murali also adds to the fun.
Technically:
Direction is amateurish. Screenplay is half-baked with unnecessary episodes that deviate the story. Some dialogues are well written. Music is good and cinematography is average.
Bottom-line: Jamba Lakidi Pamba – dumb comedy.
