Nipah Virus symptoms and cure


Nipah Virus (NiV) is the latest outbreak that is sending shivers down spine in India. The virus first identified in Kerala claimed more than 10 lives and 20 other people are showing the symptoms.
A nurse who treated virus affected patients also get affected with the disease and died of the infection. Her body was cremated at emergency to avoid virus being spread. This has created panic situation.
Nipah virus is expected to spread to neighbouring states of Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The virus effected will die within 3 to 10 days. It is believed to be transmitted from pigs and bats to humans. What is more scary is that the virus transmits through air and also through contaminated fruits like mangoes, bananas and toddy.
Nipah Virus symptoms are severe fever and head ache. It attacks brain leads to coma in 48 hours. Vaccine is yet to be invented. To prevent one needs to avoid contaminated food and keep away from affected people.
