SC upheld death penalty for Nirbhaya rapists


The Supreme Court rejected the plea of Nirbhaya rapists seeking death penalty to be converted to life imprisonment. Entire nation has cheered the decision of the apex court. The brutal gangrape and murder of 23-year-old medical student on a running bus by 6 persons including a minor in 2012 shook the world.
Nirbhaya anti-rape law came into existence after massive uproar. One of the main culprits Raju Singh commited suicide by hanging in the prison. Minor convict had been set free as per juvenile law. Supreme court today restored faith in judicial system by upholding the capital punishment to the rapists.
