The ongoing “Madhapur Drugs Case” continues to unveil surprising twists, with the recent revelation that acclaimed Telugu director Mantena Vasu Varma, who made his debut with Naga Chaitanya’s debut film “Josh,” has been arrested. This development has raised eyebrows due to Varma’s close association with the Dil Raju camp. However, there are intriguing details that cast doubt on this claim.
In June of this year, a Tollywood screenwriter named M. Prithvikrishna, who is known as Diwakar in the industry, along with event manager Rahul Ashok Telore, were apprehended, and authorities seized 70 grams of cocaine from them.
On September 5th, another filmmaker named M. Vasu Varma was arrested and subsequently placed in judicial remand within the same case. However, some sources suggest that it may not have been the director of “Josh,” Vasu Varma, who was arrested but rather the director of the film “Basti,” which marked the debut of Jayasudha’s son, Shreyan Kapoor, as a hero. This director also goes by the name Mantena Vasu Varma, alias Vasu Mantena. Currently, the police have not provided clarity regarding which Vasu Varma is the one in custody.
In another development, actor Navdeep was recently questioned as part of the Drugs Case investigation. He vehemently denied any involvement with drug peddlers or drug consumption, insisting that he had cooperated fully with the TS Narcotics Bureau during their questioning. The question that remains is which Vasu Varma is at the center of this high-profile case, and further developments are awaited.
