Mohan Babu slams AP Government on fees reimbursement

Dr. Mohan Babu raised concerns over government delaying release of funds for fees reimbursement of students. Former CM Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy introduced fees reimbursement scheme for economically backward students. Lakhs of students benefited through the scheme through years.

TDP government continued the scheme, they haven’t been implementing it properly. Mohan Babu being founder chairman of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions expressed his anguish over government’s negligent attitude towards students. Mohan Babu attended an event conducted by Sree Vidyanikethan in Chandragiri, Chittor district on Tuesday.

On the occasion, he slammed government in this regard. He revealed that fees reimbursement fund of Rs 20 crore is pending from the government for the years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. “We are facing severe inconvenience in running the institutions. We had to mortgage our assets and take bank loans to run the institutions. It requires 6 crores per month to maintain the colleges.

Though the government is not paying us we have been giving salaries to our staff on time. I have been running the institution from 26 years never compromising on standards and values. I have certain principles and have been striving for the students to thrive,”  said Mohan Babu.
